LABVIEW TESTING AND DATA ACQUISITION

All Codes were initially simulated in LabVIEW to ensure proper functionality before final lab testing and verification.

Synthetic Jet Research Code

May 2010 to May 2011
-Created LabVIEW data acquisition and jet control code.
-Jet frequency was set using a feedback control loop input rotation sensor data and output to a servo controller board.
-2 high frequency pressure transducers, 1 hotwire anemometer and 1 rotation sensor data streams were read.
-Raw sensor voltage signals were read and processed before writing to a text data file formatted for input into Microsoft Excel.
-The code was used to acquire test data and lead to a pending publication in the Journal of Aircraft.

Wake Rake Data Acquisition and Drag Determination Code
January 2010 to May 2010
-Created LabVIEW Code to interface with a 30 port pressure scanner.
-Variation in probe spacing and wake rake angle were accounted for.
-Drag was determined using an integration method with the pressure port data and upstream flow data.
-Code was tested and verified in the small student designed wind tunnel at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
-Output data was formatted and output for ease of processing with Excel.

6-Component Balance Data Acquisition Code
January 2010 to May 2010
-Created LabVIEW Code to read data signals for an NK 6-component balance.
-Input signals were processed to yield aerodynamic coefficients (lift, drag, side force coefficients and pitch, roll and yaw moment coefficients).
-Output data was formatted and output for ease of processing with Excel.
-Code was verified with testing in the 1 x 1 suction wind tunnel at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
